Magnet Bars 75mm x 12mmx 6mm ALNICO
RM 25.00
An Alnico magnet is a permanent magnet made primarily from Aluminum (Al), Nickel (Ni), and Cobalt (Co)—hence the name Al-Ni-Co. It also typically contains iron and small amounts of copper and titanium.
Advantages
- Strong magnetic field compared with many traditional magnets.
- Excellent temperature resistance—can operate up to about 500–550°C, much higher than neodymium magnets.
- Very stable magnetic properties over time.
- Resistant to corrosion, so they often don't require protective coatings.
Disadvantages
- Easier to demagnetize than neodymium magnets if exposed to opposing magnetic fields or physical shock.
- More brittle than ordinary steel.
- Not as powerful as modern neodymium magnets of the same size.
